            Dear diary:

Mother and father have brought me today to Messinglampe. It is a very pretty village, most buildings look brassy, and they have weird curved shapes. I wonder if I can slide down some of those houses.

People here are funny looking, they all have difrent color skins, some blu, some greene, and some even red. Perhaps they are circuss folk. Oh, I do love it when mother and father bring me to the circuss. Maybe I can convince mother and father to let me stay and practice circuss stuff. Some of them have big horns! But I am not afraid, father will protect me.

Dear diary:

It has been a day since mother and father left me in Messinglampe… I am not afraid, father told me not to. So I will make him proud.

The village elder, Culmnavash, treats me well, he told me that mother and father had to leave me here because my blood is special. I don’t get it… Something abaut me being half genious.

The village is divided into 4 parts, even though it is a small village, part of it, it has a mountain, the mountain has two parts, one is very cloudy, but I can hear thunder there a lot, so I keep away from it, the other half of the mountain is very warm, I think I saw lava there… That would not be safe for a young man like me, the other looks like a swamp (I hate that part diary, it smels bad), and the part where I live, is my favorite, the coastl part of the village, it reminds me of home, and it is a bit cold, I have always liked the cold and the water diary.

Day –, Month ——-, Year —-

It has been 5 years since mother and father left me in Messinglampe, they visit once in a while and the village is comfy so it is not all bad. Actually, there are very few ways it could be better… I do miss my fathers boat, and my old manor by the coast, truth be told, I would not have as many friends living with my parents that what I do here.

Last I heard of my folks they went to the Barony of Ice in the Obsidian continent, they brought me some Pure Ice, not a bad gift at all, I have rarely felt such cold, it actually hurt me, though slightly.

If only I could find a way to get Calinca to notice me… But from what I have heard, she is 56 years of age, and I am 14… Though, she looks SO young! It is probably Marlwolf just pulling my leg, fuck that guy, seriously, he think he is high and mighty just because he is a Ifrit, what ever that is… Still… I cannot get Calinca’s beautiful blue skin/hair/eyes out of my head. She CANNOT be 56… She acts just like any other teenager in the village.

To be quite honest, I have been feeling a tad bit out of place… Being the only one with “regular” looking skin… Aparently I am half genie, at least that is what, Culmnavash told me, that my sorcerous powers shall awaken in the next few years, little does the old coot know that I was able to shoot a frosty ray from my fingers a few days ago… HECK! Maybe I’ll try it on Marlwolf and see how he likes the cold… Asshole…

Yours truly, Lord Mordifor

Got a date with Calinca…

Yours truly, Lord Mordifor

Day –, Month ——-, Year —-

We went to the cold springs, competed to see who could hold their breaths for the longest, she actually kissed me so I could hold my breath longer… SCORE!

Yours truly, Drangue Mordifor

Day –, Month ——-, Year —-

We went steady, Marlwolf got pissed at me, I shot him with my Frosty Ray, he decked me out with a punch… Magic is not my strong point… Calinca told me “keep your chin up, better days are ahead”.

Yours truly, Lord Drangue of the Mordifor Hause

Drangue Mordifor’s Journal: Day –, Month ——-, Year —-

It has been nine years since my parents left me in Messinglampe, tomorrow I must leave everything behind me and move out. Culmnavash peered into my possible future and told me that not only genie blood courses through my being, but dragon blood too!

This has been a great discovery for me, for as much as I love it here in Messinglampe, I wish to take up my parent’s trade and be a diplomat. Having dragon’s blood will surely help me accomplish my goal to be a great diplomat.

I should really thank Marlwolf before I head out though… If it wasn’t for his constant pestering, I would not have the muscles and the combat capabilities I now possess. Perhaps I shall surprise him with a punch to the back of the head before I leave…

It will be sad to let go of Calinca… She cannot leave Messinglampe yet; alas she has not yet finished her bardic training. But, perhaps one day she will be able to visit me at the manor. I shall pay Calinca one last visit this night, before I head out.

I wonder however, how my parents are doing… It must be a whole year since last I heard of them. These questions and more will soon be answered.

There is one thing Culmnavash told me that worries me… He told me that not only genie and dragon blood courses through my being, something darker and sinister lies within me, Culmnavash was not able to decipher what it is. It cannot be all bad, since this dark blood was the one that got me out of Messinglampe. I have to look at the bright side of things correct?

Note to self… Get a cold iron weapon… Not sure what good it will do, but it was Culmnavash’s last piece of advice for me.

Curse my luck! After eight months I finally arrive at my family’s estate… Repossessed! They are telling me that my family conspired with a demon! Lies! They were the purest people I knew! My mother, my father, my sister and brothers…

They were executed for high treason, and since I was not here during the trials I could not take claim to my family’s estate! All I was left was some gold pieces from the inheritance.

I must make all these gold pieces count… Gear myself and head out to find a way to clear my family’s name. Or at least find a way to reclaim the estate.

“Lord of the mourning palace” that is what the other nobles now call me.

But…

What if they were right? What if my family did consort with demons?

NO! I cannot let myself be swayed by them. My family was innocent. Like Calinca used to tell me, I have to look at the bright side and keep a positive disposition.

Honestly, if ignorance is bliss, I would rather be back at Messinglampe!

Lately my dreams are being attacked by what appears to be a gigantic winged and horned beast… Pale like sickly snow, I see it flying over the horizon, making the horizon itself look pale.

Alas! A name! Kulshedra… That beast that haunts my dreams named itself. I have decided to head to Wyzaria, perhaps there I can gather some information on this name… It sends shivers down my spine to just utter it.

“The Pale Horizon”, fitting…

The title given to Kulshedra, an ancient Linnorm; even by dragon standards. Why is it plaguing my dreams? What connection could it have with me?

I try to keep a positive disposition… But things just keep heading down hill, literally! Kulshedra “The Pale Horizon” found me. I was sure my life was forfeit, but the creature told me that inside me coursed his blood, that one day his physical body would perish and I would become his new vessel!

Was it the demon my family consorted with? Was I the result of that dark union? But I am sure my family could not have fallen like this!

Draconic! Kulshedra spoke to me in Draconic, and I was able to understand it!

He told me that he has had scions before, that he has existed for millennia trading bodies…

He did not want to kill me, because he needs me. Culmnavash’s last advice paid out, not being able to think straight out of the fright I attacked Kulshedra. I struck true! And I was able to damage him; apparently his scales can be pierced with magical Cold Iron.

That action to my dismay angered him. He tried to grab me, but I was able to faint away into a nearby chasm. I must have hit myself on the way down harshly, for when I awoke I was in a wooden cart with what appeared to be prisoners.

I was taken to the Imperial Realm of Zov… A gladiator… ME! I am but a diplomat; I do not have any formal training.

Well…

All is not bad, if I had not been taken to The Coliseum, I would probably be Kulshedra’s prisoner.

Kulshedra must be stopped, if he is indeed the dark blood that Culmnavash foretold in me, I will not allow Kulshedra to continue plaguing the world.

I must find a way to escape this coliseum and my dark fate…
